Well, we’re already nearly half way through the month but never fear: there’s plenty of other fun drinks-related shenanigans for you to get up to in August.
If you missed our Part One, it’s here (there are still plenty of ideas that it’s not too late to explore), but here are some of our best events for the latter half of the month, from cider festivals to worldwide whisky tastings to Champagne cocktail masterclasses…
To start with, CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) are running various beer festivals countrywide. They’re all kinds of fun – plenty of ales and ciders to try, a jolly atmosphere, maybe even some sunshine if you’re lucky – and there’s bound to be one near you. 17th – 19th August: Foodies Festival visits London
Another gorgeous Foodies event with tons of exhibitors, but also masterclasses in the likes of Champagne, gin, and beer & food matching. Tickets start at £15 for the one-day, and £25 for a three-day pass.
18th-19th August: Tastefest, Kent
Gorgeous exhibitors, from fruit drinks to ciders to speciality teas. Tickets are £7 per adult.
25th August: The Big Onion Festival, Elveden
From lager to freshly-pressed lemonade to hot chocolate. Plus wonderful live music. Tickets a fiver in advance per adult, seven quid on the day.
25th-27th August: Foodies Festival visits Oxford
The same thing as London (above) but a variation on some of the masterclasses. Tickets are slightly cheaper at £18 for three days, or £10 per day.
26th August: Eden Foodival, Cumbria
Pop-up restaurants, local beers and a farmer’s market full of lovely produce. Oh, and wines and cocktails galore. Tickets are £8 per adult in advance, a tenner on the day.
26th-27th August: Wirral Food and Drink Festival
A beer tent! Hooray! Plus plenty of wine and hundreds of exhibitors from liqueurs to coffee. Tickets are only £4 per adult, which isn’t half bad.
25th August: Champagne Cocktails Masterclass, Colebrooke Row, London N1
28th August: Members Wine Club, Southbank Centre
28th August: Worldwide Whisky Review, Sheffield
Taste six whiskies from all over the world – from Japan to India, Ireland to Taiwan. Tickets are twenty smackers.
